You take control of general Sturnn, an imperial officer tasked with reclaiming an imperial titan from Lorn V, world filled with indigenous orks and chaos space marines. They are sent to assist the ultramarines is retrieving the titan, all the while aided by mysterious benefactor. A Small group of eldar from the craftworld Ulthwe assists, lead by Farseer Taldeer to deal with an unseen enemy. Although you get to decide which army wins the battle of Lorn V, in cannon, farseer Taldeer was successful in draining energy from the titan and destroying the Necron threat before disappearing, leaving the titan damaged beyond repair. It was nice to see the humans not win for a change. Mission 4 is absurdly tough for both factions on insane without cheesing. As the Imperial guard, trying to protect the landraider as it follows its usual course, even with constant repairs from techpriests, will be nigh on immobile. You have to make you through a massive chaos and Ork base along with every roadblock they can send your way. It is much easier to get the land raider to follow through the ruin rather than the main street. Once the land rider has made it past, the chaos and Ork hordes will focus on targeting it rather than your troop. S a result, you can set up roadblocks of guardsmen yourself and watch the enemy crash into your lines, too focused on the land raider to fight back as they get mowed down. A the Eldar, the easiest thing to do would be to play as the guardsmen and fail delivering the Land raider. This gives you all the time in the world to relocate your base, although can feel somewhat cheap. If you choose to play legitimately, you will need to move quickly to get your base behind the portal in time.
