Special Thanks Photo Credits: Dalada Maligawa Media Unit Video Credits: Sanka Indranath ඉන්දි රාජා ඇතු සඳගලට පා තබනා මොහොත ම‍නෝරම්‍ය එළි චමත්කාරයක උත්තම පූජෝපහාර මැඳ මියන්රාජා සහ බුරුම රාජා දැලේ පිරිවරා තේජවන්ත ඉන්දිරාජා මගුලැතු මතින් උතුම් පෙරහැර කරඩුව වැඩමවමින්, 1710වෙනි කන්ද උඩරට ඇසල මහා මංගල්ලයේ අවසන් මහා රන්දෝලි පෙරහර සෙංකඩගල පුරවරයේ වීදි බැබළ වීය. 2020 ප්‍රථම කුඹල් පෙරහැරේ ආරම්භය සනිටුහන් කරමින් ඉන්දි රාජා මඟුලැතු සඳගලට පා තබන පින්බර නිමේෂය මෙසේ උදා විය. දළදා කරඬුව නියමිත සුබ හෝරාවේදී ගුරුදෙණියේ විදානේ, කාරියකරවන රාළ ආදීන් ඉදිරියේදී ඇතා පිට වූ රන් සිවි ගෙයි තැන්පත් කරයි. ඒත් සමගම පෙරහර ගමන් කළ යුතු හෝරාව හඟවන වෙඩි හඬ නිකුත් වෙයි. ගමන් හේවිසි නාදය පැතිර යයි. දළදා කරඬුව රැගත් ඇතා…. සාඩම්බර ඇත් ගමනින් යුතුව මාලිගා පරිශ්‍රයෙන් හෙමින් හෙමින් වීදියට ප්‍රවිෂ්ටව ඒ වන විට සකස් වී ඇති දළදා පෙරහරට එක් වෙයි. මහනුවර සෙංකඩගල පුරවරයේ වීදි සංචාරය කෙරෙන දළදා පෙරහර අවසානයේදී දිය කැපීම සඳහා ගැටඹේ තොටුපොළ කර කප් හා පෙර අවුරුද්දේ දිය කැපීමේදී ගත් දියද ගඟට දමති. ඉන් පසු නියමිත සුබ හෝරාවේදී රන් කඩුවෙන් දිය දෙබෑ කර පුරවා ගන්නා ජලය සහිත කෙණ්ඩියද පෙරහරෙන් ගැටඹේ සිට මහනුවර ගණදෙවි කෝවිලට පැමිණ පුද පූජා පවත්වති. අනතුරුව දහවල් පෙරහර නම් වූ දිය කැපුම් මංගල්‍යය හමාර කළ පෙරහර ද ශ්‍රී දළදා පෙරහරද මහනුවර නගරයේ වීදි සංචාරය කොට සුබ මොහොතින් දළදා මාලිගයට ප්‍රවිෂ්ට වෙති. සිවු මහා දේවාල පෙරහරද ඒ දේවාල කරා පැමිණෙති. The Grand Pageant of Asia The Kandy Esala Perahera 1710th (the Sri Dalada Perahara procession of Kandy) also known as The Festival of the Tooth is a festival held in July and August in Kandy, Sri Lanka. This historical procession is held annually to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic of Lord Buddha, which is housed at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy. A unique symbol of Sri Lanka, the procession consists of traditional local dances such as fire-dances, whip-dances, Kandyan dances and various other cultural dances, in addition to the elephants who are usually adorned with lavish garments. The festival ends with the traditional diya-kepeema ritual, a water cutting ceremony which is held at the Mahaweli River at Getambe, Kandy. The perahara pageant concept became popular during the reign of Emperor Asoka of India. Kandy Perahara pageant really pageant which displays traditional customs. Majority of them been intermingled with the Buddhist and Hindu religious customs. Yet they display and highlight the great value of the Sinhals culture.Most of the customs have taken from on statues stated in the “Dantha Dhathu Charitha” or “Dalada Siritha” (a book on the customs pertaining on the sacred Tooth Relic) Written during the regime of Parakramabahu IV (1302-1326) of Kurunagala. The Dalada Siritha stated 38 statutes, on which a perahara pageant should be conducted.Accordingly, the Shrine Room of the Sacred Tooth Relic should be cleaned at the auspicious hour. canopies should be tied, should be decorated beautifully with various silk clothes; The king team of ministers and general public of the city should make offering of rice, flowers and light oil lamps on the 7th day morning,the city should be decorated like the heaven on the same day evening, the chief priests of Uttara Mula Sect personnel of two castes Ganavesi and Kilin should move the Sacred Relic casked with utmost veneration.
