CurbexUK's video: Old Abandoned Church

@Old Abandoned Church
In this short video I explore St Hildas CE church which was abandoned in the 1990s but before its closure and abandonment, it was a thriving local church and it is still on its original site a little worse for wear. I got the dates wrong it was built in 1878 so its nearly 200 years old. And now a little info about the church : - It became known as the ‘Iron Church’ as it was made of metal sheets. It was later bought by the Mission of St Hilda, dismantled and re-built at Hollingworth Fold in 1931, until it was closed due to structural problems. Who & How did they build it ? Records at Touchstones local studies library show that in the 1870s there were around 250 Roman Catholics in Littleborough. They banded together and in 1878 built the church on its original site on Featherstall Road. exploring with jakes channel - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5McTXpb8J7bXDY2qKrB0-g Hope you enjoyed this Old Abandoned Church All My Social Media Links FACEBOOK - https://www.facebook.com/CURBEXUK INSTAGRAM - https://www.instagram.com/curbexuk TWITTER - https://twitter.com/curbexuk SNAPCHAT - CURBEXUK
