Healey Dell Exploration Part 2 This is part two of exploring healey dell nature reserve, and in this video me martin zero and derelict Manchester all go for a walk to find the viaduct thats hidden near the entrance to healey dell and after we have a nosy at that. We then go exploring underneath the viaduct which was wonderful, there was the river spodden and waterfalls and I could never forget the noise the water made as it rushed on through. It really was a brilliant day exploring the vast open forrest and surround areas. Im Manchester born and bread but even I didnt know about this little hidden gem, its full of world war 1 & 2 remnants and lets not forget the beautiful waterfalls and mighty river spodden which slew their way through the nature and land. Urban exploring at its finest if you ask me. MORE TO COME SO STAY TUNED Some info on Healey Dell Healey Dell is a beauty spot and wildlife sanctuary rich in industrial archaeology, 2 miles from Rochdale town centre on the way to Whitworth and Bacup. The River Spodden has carved its way through the woodlands down thousands of years, creating delightful scenery and spectacular waterfalls which once powered ancient corn, wool and cotton mills. A disused 1800s railway line is now a nature trail with magnificent views from a 100-foot high viaduct. The Healey Dell Heritage Centre now offers visitors a unique experience with its recently opened Victorian themed tea rooms with English cream teas served in vintage bone-china. The centre offers a permanent exhibition featuring a pictorial history of the Dell. There is a Fairy Grotto where children can meet the Healey Dell Fairy Godmother and so much more. Car parking is available at Broadley Wood Lodge, off Station Road and at the Heritage Centre. The tea rooms are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and all bank holidays from 10am.
