@Weight Management For Cyclists - How to record your energy intake and use when training on the bike.
http://www.cycling-secrets.com Learn how to plan your training diet from an elite sports nutritionist. When you're training weight management can be as simple as monitoring your energy intake and expenditure. You can do this easily with some free ( or very cheap) tools on your smart phone. Easy Diet Diary is a simple way to record your meals and food and it will calculate the kilojoules or calories as well as protein, fat, sodium, carb etc. It will give you a ball park energy intake per day and you can set a goal to hit or stay within. Strava is a great way to record your rides - you don't have to get an expensive bike computer to take advantage of it. Get the iphone app for free and this will provide a ball park energy expenditure for your training. With these two tools you can monitor your energy intake and usage and calibrate against the results it has on your weight. Energy and weight management do need close attention to get right and we go into further detail about how to plan this in the first of our expert series videos with Alan McCubbin of Next Level Nutrition. For the price of a coffee you can get the low down on how to plan your diet around your training from an expert in elite sports nutrition.
