DBoy's video: Easiest Way to Learn Biblical Greek

@Easiest Way to Learn Biblical Greek
What is the easiest way to learn Biblical Greek? Biblical Greek was the language of the New Testament, except for some early portions that were in Hebrew and Aramaic. Paul’s letters in Acts, for example, are Greek. That’s one reason why I want to learn it. Why? To win top prize in Bible trivia contests or one-up-manship in Bible study? I may want to go into the ministry. Just realize that when someone is listening to a lecture of the meaning of various idioms and says it is just Greek to me, they do not actually know Greek. I do know that Biblical Greek differs from modern day Greek. True. Those travelers’ guides are not going to be much use. So what is of use? iBiblio.org has a Koine or Greek section to teach you the basics of the grammar. It also has links to Biblical dictionaries and cheat sheets. Is that Biblical? Shortcuts, then, to remembering terms and phrases. Order a free Greek New Testament through them, if it assuages your guilt. That’s probably a little more advanced than I need. I am hardly past separating Latin and Greek terms in science class. So try Teknia.com. They have free online Greek lessons, including Greek pronunciation. The site also has Bible studies with the Greek terms to explain the meaning you should be getting instead of getting confused. I’m surprised there is not an app for that. You’d be surprised, but to get it right, I might recommend the BiblicalGreek.org site. They at least got the right name for the site. The BiblicalGreek.org site starts with the true basics, the Greek alphabet. Alpha to omega. Which is their equivalent of A to Z. It covers things like the accenting of words, basic Greek vocabulary, verbs, prepositions and up through grammar. It sounds almost like grammar school. They even link to VisualGreek.com, a site with memory devices to help you learn Biblical Greek. Or use Anki software on your PC or Anki app to memorize the vocabulary. I knew there was an app for that – though a smartphone app for Biblical Greek is pretty retro.
