Chapter V One night, Gatsby asks to Nick "Does he want to swim in the swimming pool ?" When Nick denies, Gatsby offers him a trip of Coney Island. Nick realizes that Gatsby is eagerly waiting when he will fix his meeting with Daisy. Nick is ready to arrange their meeting. Gatsby offers him a job and promises him that he will not have to work with Meyer Wolfshelm. Nick feels dishonoured because he will get the job because of fixing Gatsby's meeting with Daisy. He agrees to fix a meeting but he refuses for the job offered by the Gatsby. It is a rainy day, when Nick fixes a meeting of Gatsby and Daisy at his house. At first Nick feels odd while Gatsby and Daisy are talking. Both are ashamed of each other. While Gatsby is watching the clock again and again, Nick tells him that he is behaving like a child. Nick leaves them alone for some time. When he returns, he feels that both have brought over each other. Daisy is having tears in her eyes but she is happy. Now they are moving to the mansion of the Gatsby. Gatsby shows the cuttings of newspaper. Daisy feels happy after watching these. Daisy gets shocked when Gatsby shows her the collection of his imported shirts. Daisy is having teras in her eyes. Nick does not understand that Gatsby is upset on Daisy or not. Nick feels that Daisy is still beautiful but does she perfect for Gatsby or not. One men working in the Gatsby's mansion Ewing klipspringer plays a song. It is one of the famous song of that time. " In the morning, In the evening Ain't we got fun! Got no money, but oh honey Ain't we got fun ." Gatsby and Daisy come closer when this songs plays. Nick feels that his important is not necessary here, so he moves out. Chapter VI By hearing the gossips about the Gatsby, one news reporter arrives at his mansion to ask about his past. Gatsby keeps himself away from that news reporter. Nick explains about the Gatsby for the readers of the novel. His real name is James Gets. He was not born in San Francisco. But he was born in a family of farmer in North Dakota. His name changed Jay Gatsby legally when he was seventeen. He was thrown out of the St Ollaf Collage because he was unable to pay the tution fee at given time. He could make his life better with the help of Dan Cody. He met Dan Cody at the Superior Lake. Dan Cody was a fisherman. Dan cody was about 50 years old at that time. He was self made millionaire. His future got bright at the time of Yukon gold rush. Dan Cody made him his personal assistant. Gatsby earn too much money in the journey of West Indies and Barbary coast. Dan Cody left 25000 dollars for Gatsby when he died. But that money was taken back by her wife Ella Keye. After that Gatsby achieves success by himself. So many weeks passed,but Nick doesn't meet Gatsby. When he goes to Meet Gatsby at his mansion, he gets shocked when he sees Tom Buchanan there. After Horse riding Tom Buchanan goes to the mansion of Gatsby for drinks. Mr and Mrs Sloan are with Tom. Mr and Mrs Sloan are a famous couple of East Egg. Gatsby invites all for dinner. But Mrs Sloan refuses for dinner. She invites all half hearted for dinner at her house. Nick understand the mind of Mrs Slaon and doesn't accept the invitation. Gatsby accepts but it is not clear by his expression that he will go or not. Tom Buchanan talks to Daisy after reaching home. He makes fun of Gatsby because he accepts the invitation of Mrs Slaon. Next Saturday, Tom and Daisy go to the Gatsby's mansion to attend a party. Tom was looking so rude for the whole night. When Tom moves from the party, Gatsby starts to think about Daisy. He feels that perhaps Daisy was not happy by this party. Gatsby doesn't know that Tom has said to Daisy that Gatsby earned the whole money by Bootlegging. Bootlegging is a business in which liquor is prepared illigaly and sold. Nick thinks that Gatsby wants Daisy to tell her husband that she never loved him. Nick explains Gatsby that he can't ask much to Daisy. Nick says that we can not change the past. Gatsby replies," We can."
