Hemkund Sahib is a holy place for the Sikh community. It's a beautiful Gurudwara located in the CHAMOLI district of Uttarakhand. To reach here one has to travel to Haridwar first. From there via Rishikesh Karnaprayag Joshimath you reach to Govindghat which is on Badrinath road. From Govindghat you can take pony or do the treck upto Ghangaria. Govindghat is approx 500 Kms from Delhi. While visiting Hemkund Sahib you must keep warm clothes, a thin raincoat and few medicine with you for vomit, lose motion, fever and vertigo besides carry water bottle in which you can add lime n salt to keep yourself safe from dehydration. Lack of oxygen in height is another factor. Do book your rooms well in advance online there is also a chopper facility that depends on the weather. It operates between Govindghat and Ghangaria and it's about five minutes flight. June is the best time to visit here.
