This is a complete guide to make a brushless camera or smartphone gimbal using commonly available hardware. The concept is to use the momentum of a motor spinning at high speed to stabilise the platform. To keep the project simple and cheap I have extracted the brushless motor from an old high speed PC fan. A heavy nut is glued to the motor can so to achieve a high momentum. The structure of this homemade gimbal is made out of PVC fittings. A rubber grip is added on the handle.
