This homemade blackboard with chalks and sponge reminds me how good a student I was back at school 😁!!! This is the best way to make a blackboard at home. I’ve tried many techniques to make a black board and i know there are many ways to make chalkboards but i have found that the best method is to use clear matt spray at the end for a nice finish. With this method, when you erase with the sponge, the chalk goes away quickly with only one wipe. Between the coats always be sure to sand it down to help create a smoother surface. The black paint I’ve used is a blackboard paint spray. I’m very happy with the result. The dark colour, the noise when I’m writing with the chalk, and the feeling of the chalk dust between my fingers is incredible! If I could change something it would be the plywood. It’s not the smoothest surface for a chalkboard. A big thanks to my good friend Ryan for his drawings and doodles.
