Actually this airplane it was a very important innovation of the aviation history. In 1896 a Frenchman named Octave Chanute https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octave_Chanute concluded that several wings stacked upon one another (biplane) can be utilised to achieve extra lift in an aircraft without making the flying machine to heavy. In the early 1900s, Chanute advised the Wright brothers on his biplane system which helped them with the Flyer! All you need to build this historical airplane model are bamboo food skewers, a few cocktail sticks, a piece of paper and a lot of glue. I believe the result is fascinating especially with the stand. The first time that I’ve made this airplane model was at the age of 15 as a homework project that I had to deliver at school. My teacher was speechless when he saw it and he told me very kindly that this historical flying machine model has to be displayed at school. I couldn’t refuse. I was so happy!!! I hope that it is still there’ll these years later.
