With all these new DIY aficionado’s around, it got me wondering... How many people are doing their new projects on old worktops which have lain forgotten for decades? As someone who posts his DIY’s on the Internet, I know the importance of aesthetically pleasing backdrops (for the ‘gram). I was inspired and wanted to share with you all, how to make that worktop Instagram ready in a chic distressed bohemian rustic style, guaranteed to have all your friends thinking that you are the most stylish of the newfound DIY influencers. I have had this work bench for many years, in fact, I used it in my first videos, so it holds a lot of sentimental value. Sometimes though, even worktops need a “glow up”, so now it's time for a worktop makeover with this transformation distressing technique. All I used for this simple worktop makeover was some leftover ceiling boards, a few different wood stains, some acrylic paint and a lot of water. The water helps to expose the grain of the wood and to allow you to control the shade that you want. Of course you will need a few pieces of cloth and a pair of gloves (because this distressing technique is a little bit messy.) I'm so happy with this distressed wood worktop. I love this painted wood procedure because i like the rustic style and I'm sure it's a big upgrade for my workshop (and videos). What better way to kill some time?
