Limit for loans obtained by the state increased by Rs. 663 billion Cabinet spokesperson Bandula Gunawardena said that even though the state income is low most expenses cannot be exempted. These include salaries of government workers, pensions, interests to be paid for debts incurred by the state and so on. The maximum amount of loans that the state could obtain is Rs. 3844 billion for 2022.
