Daily Tea Sips's video: How My Credit Score Went From 690 to 794

@How My Credit Score Went From 690 to 794
In October 2017 I wanted to know the status of my credit report. 1. Obtain your credit report. You can get a free credit report once per year. You need to know what is on your credit report so you can not what needs to be added, removed etc. I got my credit report online through the credit reporting agencies. You also use Credit Karma and Credit Check Total. You can also write to the credit reporting agencies which I will list in the description section. 2. My score at that time was 690. Not bad but I wanted to know what I needed to do to increase my score. Yes, you can get a credit card or even a mortgage or rent an apartment with a 690 but I wanted to get my score above 700. 3. After pulling my report I realized a few errors that needed to be addressed. A. My name was spelled wrong B. My address was not only incorrect they had addresses listed that was not my address There were no late pays. The only account showing up on my credit was my student loan which I've had since 1995. There was one late pay showing up on that account. I'll discuss that later 4. Correcting those two things increase my score above 700. 5. Once that was done I waited a few months (March 2018) and applied for a Chase Freedom Card. I was approved. 6. I used the card but kept a balance under $200. 6. I used that card for 6 months then received a credit limit increase in September 2018 7. Chase sent me another offer for a Chase Saphire Card with a much higher limit. I was approved. 8. Again, I keep the balance on that card under $300 a month. 9. Other factors that have increased my score are: A. The age of my credit file. Over 15 years B. The balance of my student loan has decreased C. The balance on my credit cards have decreased D. I do not use more than 10% of my credit 10. My scores are listed on the screen. 11. The late pay on my student loan was only showing up on my Experian credit report. It was showing one late pay back in 2014. I disupted that online. That late pay was removed. My score went from 700 to 794. I believe I have the screenshot for that also. 12. I noticed that my score were not the same across the three agences. One score was 794, 784 and 744. The reason for this is not all creditors report to all credit reporting agencies. 13. I am no longer focused on just the score but the items I need to add to my credit report to balance it out. Car loan, Mortgage and credit cards. I am looking at financing a car before June. As far as disputing online I understand why that may not be a good idea depending on your credit cicumstance. If you have a similar situation like me then yes you can dispute online. If your situation is more complex I would recommend sending a dispute letter to both the collection agencies and credit bureaus. This will probably need to be done several times. You need a paper trail in the event that you need to sue if laws are not followed. Listen, you do not have to hire a company to help you increase your credit score. You have to learn the credit game. I do not consider myself to be any type of credit guru. I just researched the information and applied what I learned. I now have an entire free credit building series called Above 700. In my Above 700 credit series I discuss: how to get credit if you have no credit profile or your credit is less than good how to use a method to increase your credit score within 1 week how to get negative items removed from your credit report I'll even recommend two resources that will help you get your credit on track if you do not have the time to do the leg work yourself. No, I am not an affiliate and I do not receive any compensation from these two recommendation. I place a link to the series below. There is nothing to purchase. I just want to share with others what I did to increase my score. Knowledge is power. Good credit will open more doors for you. Stay blessed!
