How To Obtain A Second Chance Checking Account If you are unable to get a checking account due to bounced checks or fees owed to a banking institution (Checking/Savings) chances are this information has been reported to Chexsystems. Think of Chex Systems that same way as you would Equifax, Experian or Transunion. The only difference is Chex System is a reporting agency collecting data on your savings and checking account activity (NSF, bounced checks, etc) from banks and credit unions. This information is then used to create a consumer report which financial institutions use to screen potential customers. Did you know that derogatory information being reported to Chex Systems remains on your Chexsystem file for 5 years? Just like Transunion, Equifax and Experian, derogatory or inaccurate information being reported to Chexsystems can also be disputed. I will include a link to the Chex System website. Request a free copy of your Chexsystems credit report and find out what is being reported on your file. Now, there are banks that are willing to give you a second chance.
