DanMcGrathDotNet's video: The Party is in Space New Old School Electro Funk

@The Party is in Space (New, Old School Electro Funk)
A new 80s-inspired electro funk song by Dan McGrath. Features Roland synths, classic drum machine sounds, robot voices and crazy neon animation. This is my first original composition in about a decade, just having some fun experimenting with genres. Influenced by Egyptian Lover, Freestyle, Midnight Star, the galactic funk of Afrika Bambaataa, Planet Rock, the Soul Sonic Force, the Time and whatever else funkadelic was rattling around in my head while surviving the madness of the pandemic and wishing to be whisked away to another planet. Recorded on the Reason 11 Digital Audio Workstation, with Several Juno 106 synths and the Arturia Spark drum machine. Robot voices done on the free TAL vocoder. We're sending out the robots They're armed with laser guns Their mission: to abduct you And have a lot of fun The Cylons love to boogie Machines will cut your rug But the earthlings are all lonely They're fearful of the bug Your planet is on fire So we'll take you from this place Our spaceship is in orbit The party is in space Attention humanoids We are now leaving orbit Please stay clear of the airlocks Commencing hyperdrive on the One We're going interstellar That's really really far This disco's supernova We're dancing in the stars They're dancing on the ceiling There's zero gravity Your mind and your body Are in the place to be
