Shinsekai Osaka - Japan * DTTV I traveled to Japan to explore the city of Osaka, Kyoto, Nara and Kobe.Join me in exploring the land of the rising sun. On the first day I was exploring the area around the apartment in Osaka. Shinsekai means "New World" is a district in Osaka. At the district's center stands Tsutenkaku Tower, the nostalgia-evoking symbol of Shinsekai. More about the Tsutenkaku Tower and Tennoji Zoo in one of the following episodes. One of the best-known parks in Osaka. Tennoji Park is an urban oasis like New York's Central Park or Hyde Park in London. Keitakuen Garden is located behind the Osaka City Museum of Fine Art in Tennoji Park, it is a delightful garden that is not so well known and therefore gets relatively few visitors. Is a quite large, stroll type garden, with a large pond in the centre. During the Taisho Period, it was the garden of the main residence of the Sumitomo family, the wealthy merchants of Osaka.
