El Eiger es una montaña de 3970 m de altura de los Alpes berneses de Suiza,que forma parte del conjunto Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco en 2001.Es el pico más oriental de la cadena que se extiende cruzando el Mönch (4099 m) y la Jungfrau (4158 m).La ladera septentrional de la montaña se alza alrededor de 3 km sobre Grindelwald y otros valles habitados del Oberland bernés y la cara meridional queda frente a la región del Jungfrau-Aletsch,cubierta por algunos de los glaciares más grandes de los Alpes.
