I've always loved the catchy tune of the opening theme of Sailor Moon (also known as Moonlight Densetsu) since I was a child. It only took me until now to realize why not play it on piano! Sailor Moon (美少女戦士セーラームーン) is a Japanese shōjo manga series written and illustrated by Naoko Takeuchi in 1991. The 18 manga volumes have been adapted into an anime series titled Sailor Moon which was produced by Toei Animation. The entire series has sold over 35 million copies worldwide, making of it one of the highest selling shōjo series ever, and reviewers have praised the art, characterization and humor of the story. The anime is popular in several countries and is arguably one of the most influential in boosting the popularity of Japanese animation in Western culture.
