DanielKotes's video: Spawn Chunks Transferring items from END to Overworld

@Spawn Chunks + Transferring items from END to Overworld
Thought I would do an explanation of the spawn chunks of minecraft, as there doesnt seem to be quite that many videos about it, even though it is such an interesting feature of the game with so much potential. Also included is a simple, efficient, and most of all fully automatic way of transferring items from the END to the overworld without having to carry it by hand - so for those of you who are struggling with enderman pearls or wish to build an obsidian farm but dont want to carry hundreds of double chests of obsidian out by hand, this is for you! . Quick guide to the spawn chunks: 1 - they are a 12x12 chunk area centered on the player spawn point 2 - when you spawn into the game the first time or after dying without being tied to a bed, you will appear in a 20x20 block area centered on the spawn point 3 - if you die enough times and record the locations you spawn in, you can get the 20x20 area and thus figure out the exact spawn point coordinates (south-eastern block of the 2x2 block center) 4 - alternatively you can through items through the portal from the end back to the overworld, and it will give you the exact spawn point coordinates (south-eastern block of the 2x2 block area items can appear) 5 - if 4 doesnt work, flatten the area! 6 - by marking out the chunk the spawn point is in, you can find the center of the 12x12 spawn chunks without having to test things out through item despawns 7 - special properties of spawn chunks (or what works and what doesnt): : redstone contraptions work perfectly : lava, water, and fire spread normally : minecarts, hoppers, dispensers, etc. work normally : iron golems spawn, villagers breed, baby villagers grow : animals grow, and sheep grow wool : TNT blows up the same way, though if it passes out of the spawn chunks it 'freezes' (gets unloaded), even if it is already primed : ice DOES NOT form or melt without a player nearby : wheat, potatoes, carrots, saplings... basically anything you can speed up with bonemeal DOES NOT grow without a player nearby : reed / sugar cane DOES NOT grow without a player nearby : mob spawning DOES NOT happen without a player nearby : Pigmen spawning through nether portals also seems to not work without a player nearby... 8 - you can 'expand' the spawn chunks through chunk loaders at the borders (2 hoppers facing into each other with one item inside, one hopper in a loaded chunk, one hopper in a chunk you want to keep loaded) . Hope that helps! - Dan
