Nel 1985 lavora a quello che forse è il suo lavoro più ambizioso, realizzandolo anche in veste di produttrice: un disco incentrato sul repertorio di Djavan, artista a metà fra la tradizione brasiliana ed il rock. L'album Carioca viene inizialmente concepito in lingua portoghese, ma su imposizione della casa discografica verrà pubblicato in italiano con gli adattamenti di Bruno Lauzi ed Enrico Ruggeri, che traducono i testi. Uno dei più importanti capitoli della sua carriera viene sancito dal successo del singolo Acqua, sigla d'apertura del Festivalbar, che la vede ancora una volta protagonista assoluta.
