Daoji's video: My Top 80 Japanese Songs of 2017 in 7 minutes

@My Top 80 Japanese Songs of 2017 in 7 minutes
Here's my top 80 favourite Japanese songs of 2017! This includes J-Rock, J-HipHip and J-Pop, as well as the Japanese debut of TWICE. --- This year saw a variety of debuts, including BananaLemon, Suddanayuzuyulli and RIRI, the comebacks of some of the most popular Japanese groups such as Generations and Keyakizaka46. We saw a variety of music from the K-Pop styles of Cherrsee, to the techno rap of Charisma.com and 80s and 90s return from FEMM. This year saw three foreign artists in my top 80, with Kero Kero Bonito, Charli XCX and LIZ singing their way in to my Top 80 with their J-Pop collabs and singles. This year saw the rise of TWICE and Keyakizaka46, and the fall of small groups like Charisma.com, who, after a year of great music decided to take time off. AKB48 seemingly lost their grasp over J-Pop, losing to the more modern image of Keyakizaka46 and Nogizaka46. DAOKO had a significant rise to fame this year, with her videos garnering up to 98million views, a massive increase from songs last year which got about 500k. We also saw Wednesday Campanella's slow climb to success, appearing on many variety shows. Perfume came back with great songs as usual, with Everyday, the B-Side of If You Wanna being my particular favourite. In a year where we saw the E-Girls re-vamp and Dream Ami leaving the group, LDH continued to have a very good year, with E-Girls' Love Queen being the epitome of good music from the Avex group. Speaking of Avex, a surprising new artist found their way in to our ears, with Mondo Grosso releasing a significant number of amazing songs, with Labyrinth coming 2nd in the chart. --- _Songs I Missed from this Chart_ Momoiro Clover Z - Blast (probably would place about 36) RIRI - Heart Can't Lie (probably would place about 40) _Artists that disappointed this year_ AKB48: 100% 2016 was such a great year for them, with Tsubasa Wa Iranai, Love Trip and High Tension. 2017 had Imapara, a high pitched song that did nothing but annoy you. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu: Harajuku Iyahoi was a great song, but Easta was a song that let me down to no end. Being my first J-Pop act I got in to, it's painful to say that, but Todoke Punch saved the album. _Artists that impressed this year_ Mondo Grosso - What a year for Mondo Grosso, I could go on and on about the quality of the releases they have put out, and Labyrinth Garnered over 8MILLION views which is incredible for a lesser known J-Pop group. RIRI - How can a single mini album be so beautiful. Every song was perfect, formulated spectacularly and sounded amazing. Awaiting her new album in February. DAOKO - Honestly, had it just been for the first part of the year, DAOKO would have been on the disappointing acts. I hated Forever Friends and Haikei Gubai Sayounara, and it wasn't until Uchiage Hanabi came out that I listened to Haikei Gubai Sayonara and didn't hate it anymore. Then there was Step Up Love and Onaji Yoru and it was the perfect end to her year.
