The title of the EP refers to the metaphorical idiom in English for an important or enormous topic, problem, or risk that is obvious or that everyone knows about but no one mentions or wants to discuss. In particular the most famous metaphorical Elephant In The Room right now is of course climate change. It’s staring us right in the face, we are already suffering it’s consequences in realtime, yet our governments are (willingly or unwillingly) not addressing the problem in ways they should be handled. But there are many more that need to be addressed. The systemic issues we already have and the ones we will be facing in the future are abundant, critically urgent and connected to the biggest issue of them all: the future of capitalism, data control, AI, equality and the (re)distribution of wealth. Tracks on this EP go from dreamy techno like Hypernormalisation and the title track, to more in-your-face affairs ready for the dancefloor like Greed and Cognitive Dissonance, as well as the electro-y Grassroots. 5 tracks of pure dance music that should get dancers alight as well as expanding the minds of couch electronic listeners.
