Darth Porg's video: Solo: A Star Wars Story - Alternate Opening Fan Edit

@Solo: A Star Wars Story - Alternate Opening (Fan Edit)
“Han…what?” Solo: A Star Wars Story - Alternate Ending: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOVQ1OXK0Ss I think Solo: A Star Wars Story answered (too many) questions that didn’t need a answer. Han’s surname is one of those. I think they should have kept his surname as a random family name that happened to have the same spelling as a term which describe “alone”. I understand why they did this. Having no surname is a easy way to tell us that Han has no family. But I think it is just cheesy answer no one asked. ‘Solo’ meaning ‘alone’ comes from Latin-based languages. So, making his surname a pun requires characters to know a Latin. It's just a movie so we don't complain characters speaking English. We understand that they speak Galactic Basic Standard. But making puns out of it is different thing because it means characters acknowledge that they speak English. Or is there a Galactic equivalent of English? To make this pun even work there must be Galactic equivalent of Latin-based language in the Star Wars universe. Names are important to a certain degree. The surname “Solo” can be purposeful and come with a wealth of character information. But it had to be careful because it may cause a problem on a metafictional level. Surname "Solo" doesn't have to have a meaning at all. Not everything needs explanation. And if you explain too much and tie up everything, it makes Star Wars Universe looks small and empty. It’s also a great example of how mystery is sometimes better than demystification, particularly when the alternative to mystery is this goofy. Also, after Han was kicked out from the Imperial Academy and got friends and family and even until he died, why didn’t he stop calling himself Solo. Why did he game his son the same surname? He’s no longer solo. He could just use other last name instead. It is really weird to give his own son if Solo is not his real family name. So what I decided to do was to make “Solo” his real family name like in original back story (Legends) and Han has this family name from the beginning. Obviously, I cannot make Han directly says his last name due to a lack of resources. So, I made this scene as a opening title sequence. What I did was, when a officer asked ”Han... what?”, the scene transit to the title which implying that Han’s last/family name is “Solo”. I deleted lines “Who are your people?” and “I don't have people. I’m alone.” because it’s just unnecessary. We already know he’s alone through his impoverished life on Corellia.
