We like the idea of incorporating a weapons animation into it's design and think it has worked very well in the past. Our focus was instantly drawn to the moving parts on the gun. Understanding that this is a Terrorist weapon it needed something that could fit that persona. Why not a twisted and hysterical joker? The Jack in The Box went through many iterations before we arrived to it's final and fully realized idea. Creating the base texture of the gun was the first step. We turned our attention toward fabrics and designs that fit clowns, jokers, and carnivals. Utilizing the concept behind these designs we created our own recognizable patterns to utilize on the different parts of the gun. At that point the gun felt a little flat and it needed something to help balance it out. We felt that adding gold to parts of the gun improved the overall feel while creating a sense of higher ideals, wisdom, understanding and enlightenment. However, the wisdom of a maniacal and twisted Joker can be dangerous and unknown. The highlight of this gun is clearly the plate that moves up and down while being fired. The bolt moves back when the trigger is pulled making the joker break out into maniacal laugher which can be seen by the hand painted HA HA's all over the gun. In order to make the weapon feel like it was a part of the game we turned to Source Filmmaker. If you haven't watched the video above I suggest you do that now before continuing. The thought of the Terrorists luring the Counter-Terrorists into a trap with a jack in the box was all too perfect. The sound design in the video helps create an atmospheric tension and the audience feels what the CT's feel as the story in the short develops. As the CT's enter the abandoned amusement park they are confident until they encounter the painted CS:GO case with a question mark on it. The immediate area is cleared out the case is inspected. As the T's watch from the dark they initiate the jack in the box and begin to toy with the all but comfortable Counter-Terrorists. Unsure of what is to come they back away from the case. The jack in the box is triggered and comes out of the case with great force. A mini bomb attached to a clown doll appears from the box and begins to beep. Before the CT's have a chance to re-assess the situation a parade float is pushed out from the darkness to reveal the greater cause of chaos in the amusement park. The snickering from a joker can always be heard right before the Terrorists are about to tell another "joke". after a few seconds the CT's realize they've fallen into a trap and before they have time to react the Terrorists open fire. The sound of hysterical laughter can be heard over the gun fire. Is it coming from the Gun or the Terrorists? We hope you enjoy this skin as much as we enjoyed making it. We're very happy with the outcome and look forward to many more creative submissions to the workshop. http://www.twitch.tv/Hrorek Subscribe! http://goo.gl/QPrhK More Videos! http://goo.gl/fBNW7 SFX provided by: http://www.AudioMicro.com Music Provided by: http://www.EpidemicSound.com
