GOLDGOLOM's video: The Speakeasy Orchestra at Concordia Student Union Frosh

The Speakeasy Orchestra and the Concordia Student Union turned the Concordia Hall Terrace into a 1920’s swing dance floor. Speakeasy Montreal have taken the task of teaching folks about the happy fun style of music that is Electro Swing. Specifically, how this music can get people to let loose, stop fretting about their everyday worries, and go out and get down to some funky groovy tunes. Its members have performed all over the world and locally including Montreal’s JazzFest and Piknic Electronik. What exactly does speakeasy do? They blend swing hop, breaks, ghetto swing, traditional swing, drum n bass, and swing dub. At this performance they will include live instruments such as trumpets, clarinets, guitars, and percussion. They fuse the feelings of yesteryear with a cool modern musical vibe.
