David Gray's video: Great Smoky Mountains National Park Backpacking TN - October 2018

@Great Smoky Mountains National Park Backpacking (TN)- October 2018
After what I thought was my season-ending trip to Glacier National Park in September, I decided to add a 'bonus' trip to Great Smoky Mountains National Park to finish out the 2018 backpacking season. I did this trip with Tyler, who I met here on YouTube. Tyler arranged the much-appreciated ride up to Kintla Lake during my September 2018 Glacier trip. He was also originally going to hike in Glacier with me, but ended up cancelling due to the fires there - so as an alternative we made plans to do this October hike to GSMNP. Tyler has his own YouTube channel (Hikergy 16) and he also published a video of our hike together. Check it out! Tyler's YouTube channel is at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCF-27TZ1rUBgnOv6gCDXTIA This trip was in the western part of GSMNP, and the intent was to experience the many streams, creeks, and waterfalls in that area of the Park, as well as immerse ourselves in the unique 'primordial' forests you find in the backcountry of the Smokies. Our hike started on the Middle Prong Trail, then onto the Lynn Camp Prong Trail to campsite 28 for our first night. On the 2nd day we unfortunately started 'off-trail' for a couple hours before finding our way back onto the Lynn Camp Prong Trail. We then connected with the Miry Ridge Trail which we followed to Jakes Creek Trail, then to the Meigs Mountain Trail which took us to camp for our second night. On the 3rd day we continued on the Meigs Mountain Trail to the Meigs Creek Trail, and, after 18 stream crossings, arrived at 'The Sinks'... and the car. For those who have watched my other videos this one is done in the same style - a little under an hour in length, intended to bring the audience along for the 'ride', and with a still picture slide show with music at the end. If you just have a few minutes skip to the end and enjoy the pictures.
