Preferably do not eat before. There is no participation fee, but if you would like to invest in promotion of CI in The Hague you are most welcomed to make a free donation. Contact Improvisation is an improvisational dance form that has it roots in the early history of what has come to be known as post-modern dance. The form grew out of a performance score called Magnesium, developed by Steve Paxton in the 1972, that was rooted in an exploration of how two bodies can improvise freely with a shared point of contact. Subsequently, he gathered together a group of dancers who worked intensively together before presenting the work again to an audience, this time under the name Contact Improvisation. I am a Contact Improvisation geek, that got in love with the practice 7 years ago, and looking for continuous improvement and practice/dance this type of art. By profession I am an engineer that is constantly searching to improve the quality of life using movement, so 11 years ago I discovered the Aikido practice. From there it was a tiny and inevitable step to discover a funnier way to explore: *how the energies are continuously flowing and interact to each other when the bodies get in contact/connect; *what makes us move and how I can be aware about the environment and everyone that is around me; *and in the same time how to create an artistic improvisation form of movement. I propose to you to start with body awareness and slowly go up to fly, the ultimate goal being a free improvised movement (sport)/dance(art).
