David Savery Electrical Services's video: Vlogging energy logging with the PEL51

@Vlogging energy logging with the PEL51
Remember when you were doing electrical theory at college and they had you drawing triangles while punching trigonometry functions into a scientific calculator? What on earth was that all about, and where would you ever use it out in the field?? Well, here you now are in the world of tomorrow… today! And lawks-a-lawdy my friend, things aren’t as easy as they use to be! Most sparkys of the past wouldn’t have given two-hoots about this kind of caper, at least, not domestically, but in this information age where the fridge is connected to the internet, your daughter makes more than you do from her OnlyFans account, and you need to remember to plug the car in several hours before you trundle off to Tesco, then yes, more alcohol is needed to numb the pain, and this is the hardware you perhaps now need to fork out for. As a disclaimer, I will say that as a (primarily) domestic wire-tugging grunt, much of what I’m seeing here with this instrument is largely new to me, despite all the graph paper I scribbled triangles on years ago at college. There may be errors & omissions in this presentation that you’ll doubtless pick up on in the comments, and I’ll pin anything important or address it in an errata here. Bear in mind this is an amateur vlog and not a gadget review, product showcase, a technical support channel or any kind of definitive deep dive. I had to re-wrap my head around long forgotten concepts of power to figure out how to interpret what this gizmo can show me so I can get the most out of it, and the point of this vlog is to document all that so as I don’t have to repeat any research once it’s been forgotten after my next walloping hangover. If such efforts help anyone else out in the world from undertaking a load of tedious Googling, then that’s just dandy. If not, well, I guess this video wasn’t for you. This is not a sponsored presentation; I’m just reporting on new test gear that’s available to us proles and why *you* might need to bite the bullet and buy the friggin’ thing.
