David Soriano's video: Lead Battery 20 Aq Rochelle Salt Electrolyte 60 Sec Video

Hello You Tubers! The 60 sec video was captured with my cell phone. I will be setting up a cam next week for high quality video capture. Below are observations and cell performance data after a few cycles. I modified a commercial ( China) 6V ( 1200mAhr/ 20 hr) 'sealed' gel lead battery. I popped it open and neutralized the sulfuric acid with a number of aq. bicarbonate rinses. After several distilled water rinses, I charged the battery with 20% (m/v) 'Rochelle Salt' as test electrolyte. I have now completed four cycles of charge-discharge with the battery. I am using an electronic load ( ZKE Tech model # EBD -A20H) which does not carry out charge/discharge cycles. I have two (2) units ( Model A10H) which will carry out five cycles coming in. The device works very well. This modified lead battery showed increased strength over the few cycles I have carried out. I generally charge at 8.5V/ 0.83 amps for 25 minutes. This run , the cell was charged at 8.0V/ 0.70amps for 15 minutes for this short video. Here are battery performance specs ( after cycle ): V (open)= 6.28 / Constant current discharge at 2.00A/ Cutoff voltage= 2.00V/ battery capacity= 160 mA-hr/ Cell energy= 658 mW-hr Voltage rebound ( after 2 minutes at 20 deg C)= 5.47V/ Time interval for discharge study= 4 minutes, 48 sec ( rounding off to 5.0 minutes, the battery has 1920 mAh). The manufacturer states: 60mA over 20 hrs (1200 mAh). Rochelle's salt ( potassium sodium tartrate ) is a very useful chemical commodity. It is performing well , so far, with the paired lead electrodes. It re-charges very fast and the drop to 2.00 V would quickly destroy a conventional lead acid wet battery.
