David Soriano's video: LSD Introduction to Conformational Isomerism and Modeling

A short video demonstrating progression from basic organic chemistry's cyclohexane conformational isomerism to a compound such as lysergic acid diethylamide ( "LSD"). I attempt in this video to show viewers how quickly one progresses from the fundamentals to molecular modeling research. Years ago, following the Professor Dave Nichols ' research efforts (Purdue University) , we presented modeling work on the LSD conformational possibilities. Is the LSD free-base or protonated when binding to the serotonin sub-receptor? Both forms require modeling. LSD, although somewhat rigid, does have a degree of flexibility. I show the use of molecular dynamics with Sci-Gress platform which generates a pool of conformers for closer investigation.
