A pochi chilometri da Essaouira, città simbolo del nuovo turismo in Marocco, c'è un lido che ci riporta indietro nel tempo di decine, forse centinaia di anni. Sidi Kauki è una spiaggia lunga chilometri, di sabbia finissima, dove l'oceano Atlantico abbraccia il deserto con una interazione umana quasi inesistente. Poche case bianche oltre le due, un edificio in rovina sulla spiaggia, dromedari a zonzo lungo il bagnasciuga. Sembra di vedere l'altrettanto lunga spiaggia di Essaouira prima che vi fosse Essaouira. Qui domina il vento, il fischio costante del vento, i "cavalloni" oceanici...
