@Eating SPICY KOSOVO SAUSAGE!! Sujuk & Tavas at Kulla e Zenel Beut | Peja, Kosovo

Come along with me as I try a spicy Kosovo sausage called sujuk and enjoy some delicious tavas at Kullae Zenel Beut in Peja, Kosovo! 🇽🇰 DAVID’S BEEN HERE KOSOVO & ALBANIA SHIRTS: https://teespring.com/stores/davids-been-here 🚗 RENTAL CAR ALBANIA: https://www.instagram.com/rentalcaralbania/ My evening began in Peja’s Old Bazaar with my boy Erjan from Travel Media EU. Peja is one of the most-visited cities in the country. It’s a beautiful strip of souvenir shops, jewelry shops, kebab restaurants, and more. It’s built in the traditional Ottoman style. There were tons of clothing shops lining the street. There were lots of knockoffs, as well as jackets and shoes. We also saw some amazing local instruments, as well as vendors selling lots of COVID masks. They had some for soccer teams, Albanian flags, and more! Then, we hopped back in the car to go get some dinner! The restaurant we’d be going to, Kulla e Zenel Beut, is located in a tower. They sell lots of bread, meats, and vegetables. We arrived in the main square of Peja, which borders the river. As we explored, we came across a meat shop selling a spicy sausage called sujuk, as well as lamb! They had what looked like hundreds of sujuk in the window! They were also lots of organs! We got to sample some of the sujuk, which wasn’t too spicy and was very chewy. It’s the most popular dish in Kosovo and is so tasty! We arrived at the restaurant, which was in a stone-and-wood house and had a very rustic feel. We started with some raki and then I headed back to the kitchen to watch the cooks prepare some dishes! They made some tavas and a pizza-like appetizer made from pita bread with a few things on top. It looked like a margherita pizza! Back at the table, the owner brought me some quince raki, which was so good! Then, our tava feast arrived. They contained vegetables, meat, and cheese. There was one made from tomatoes and cheese, another containing chilies with cheese, and a pepper-and-tomato tava. The old stone house was once a stable! The baked meat I tried was fall-apart tender. Stuffing the meat into the pita bread was amazing! I also loved the cheese-and-pepper tava! The pepper was stuffed with cheese, with more cheese on the side. It was phenomenal! After that, I tried some goat cheese with tomato. It was so good, I had to stuff the rest of my pita bread with it! The veal-and-vegetable tava was also outstanding and really creamy when mixed with the vegetables and cheese. I loved it! Then, we headed to Hotel Dukagjini, which is an inexpensive place to stay in Peja. It’s a 5-star hotel in the middle of Peja and is really beautiful. The spa is complimentary, as is the breakfast and WiFi! My hotel had a nice bed, a mini-bar, a TV, and a great bathroom. I couldn’t wait to go to sleep! What a day! Where have you been?
