@Exclusive BIRRA PEJA Tour!! Drinking Unfiltered Peja Beer & Tava Dinner | Peja, Kosovo

Join me on my exclusive Birra Peja tour and then stick with me as I have a delicious tava dinner in Peja, Kosovo! 🚗 RENTAL CAR ALBANIA: https://www.instagram.com/rentalcaralbania/ My afternoon started at Birra Peja, the largest brewery in all of Kosovo, with my boy Erjan from Travel Media EU. This place is downright massive! I couldn’t wait to check out their facility! Inside, I met Albert inside their taproom, where I tried some unfiltered Peja beer. It’s the only place in the world where you can try it! The unfiltered version is much cloudier than the clearer, more amber-colored filtered version. They use the water from the White Drin River in their beers here! The unfiltered beer was one of the best beers I’ve ever had from a big brewery! It was really strong and was full of flavor! Then, it was time for my exclusive tour! On the wall inside is a helpful diagram showing the entire production process, which begins with malts, hops, and water. It shows, step-by-step, how the beer winds up in the bottles that are sold in bars and supermarkets. There are huge, stainless steel tanks there! I checked out the bottom of their huge brewing system. It’s a complicated but fascinating process! I got to see the malt process, where the malts are cleaned and steamed. Then, water is added to it, followed by hops. Then, it’s filtered and bottled! Next, we headed over to another building to see the bottling system. The bottles get washed, and then they get filled and pasteurized at about 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Then, I got to see the labeling process. It’s a super organized, well-oiled machine! Then, we hopped in the car to get dinner. We headed to Restaurant Art Design, which is just a five-minute walk from my hotel. It has a beautiful wooden terrace with a stream running under it! From there, I headed back into the kitchen to watch the cooks prepare some delicious Kosovar food! They sauteed some eggplant, peppers, and carrots, and browned some beef. Then, she made some bread shaped like a qeleshe hat and filled it with the vegetables and beef. Along with that dish, we also had fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, and onions, as well as some chicken soup. We also had some separate bread. The soup was fantastic and was basically a vegetable soup with large chunks of chicken and lots of pepper. It was perfect for the cold weather outside. The parsley in it gave it a nice kick! It was a great starter. Then, I dove into the bread bowl dish. The bread was great and I loved the delicious, roasted vegetables. The beef was tender and moist. There was also a nice, juicy pepper in there, which was pretty spicy. They’re a little spicier than the ones in Albania. The dish had so many amazing textures and was bursting with flavor. Finally, I added a bit of cheese to the vegetables and beef, which was just outstanding. It was like a white string cheese. Then, we finished up with some local raki! It’s so smooth and tastes like water! What an awesome way to end another eventful day in Kosovo! Where have you been?
