Dead Man Vlogging's video: 37 You Are NOT Alone Welcome to The TBI ABI PCS Worldwide Community DeadManTalking

@#37 You Are NOT Alone!!! Welcome to The TBI ABI & PCS Worldwide Community!!! #DeadManTalking
Have you had an Acquired Brain Injury, a Traumatic Brain Injury or are you going through Post Concussion Syndrome of any kind? Or perhaps someone close to you has been through at least one of these? Either way: You are a part of the worldwide TBI ABI & PCS Community (I really need to think up a pithy of far catchier title!) But, you probably don't know it because although this community is beyond vast (for example 60 to 64 million people EVERY year have Traumatic Brain Injuries. And the total private TBI, ABI & PCS private support group worldwide community total members? Roughly 60,000.) I felt so very alone before I discovered the online community of fellow sufferers, survivors and warriors. I also learned that although each condition is unique to each person? We all seem to share a few common experiences. And one of those is that even those of us lucky enough to have strong support networks in real life? Even we feel dreadfully alone... Until we see the truth that we aren't alone, and we never were. So, in short that's what this and my other 36 videos on this channel are about - using the confidence and talking ability I gained in my 10 years total of training and working as a professional actor in England) to try to pass on things I've proven to be helpful to myself, to inspire, motivate and encourage. But mainly? Mainly I want to reach out to those who didn't know this community, the community they belong to but didn't know it is here. And that *YOU* are not alone. Whether you've experienced brain damage or someone you love has you *ARE* a part of this community. Below I will post all the links that will help you best as regards getting started integrating into your Brain Injury Community. Much love. You are not alone. You never were. You just thought you were. Which is just as terrible. But the truth is that there are a great many of us you can connect with. The truth always resides in a positive place (that's what I believe) James Inkson Stevens: "Dead Man Talking" (my channel introduction video explains the channel name) A link to the free to listen to 73 episodes so far (normally a new one is released each Monday) of the excellent TBI/ABI/PCS podcast. This link also has links to your preferred podcast platform. Or you can listen free direct from the "A Battle Within" website: https://abattlewithin.com/the-podcast/ Here's the episode where I was Drew and Terry's guest that week (about three weeks from today's date:) https://abattlewithin.com/071/ Here's two excellent articles by an excellent public figure from our community, Brooke Knisley, both really helped me last year: https://folks.pillpack.com/my-disability-is-invisible-im-still-disabled/ https://folks.pillpack.com/how-snowboardings-tony-hawk-learned-to-love-his-brain-again-after-injury/ Also, I have been approached by the editor of Neuro Rehab Times and will be doing an interview for this publication and website next week. So I will intend to update this section once the feature or article comes out. But for now here is the website: https://www.nrtimes.co.uk/ https://www.sameyou.org/ For those with Brain injury in the United Kingdom, I carry a Headway card with me everywhere, they're free and are an essential form of I.D for anyone who has had a serious head injury: https://www.headway.org.uk/supporting-you/i-recently-sustained-a-brain-injury/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw9b_4BRCMARIsADMUIyomZVO1VUPdY50BS3N54dg5XHEUbxpjDmjjsGH0AKhpPTNnRivQFswaAsebEALw_wcB If you suspect that you may have suffered or are suffering from (P.T.S.D) Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, please consult your doctor and ask to be assessed. This following link is just meant to offer a little help in case you think you do need to consult your doctor https://www.ptsduk.org/what-is-ptsd/symptoms-of-ptsd/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw9b_4BRCMARIsADMUIyqPqfXG_TLl03-cXGmD-I37pt296c-15QPLf9oMiOiqb3wF6ZSizM4aAv64EALw_wcB Here are all the TBI, ABI, and PCS private online support groups I am currently a member of on Facebook (I think these are all private, not all of them are though, so double check.) I found that a number of these were very helpful in the early days. Mainly, these days I just try to offer helpful content via my videos, as my way of trying to help our worldwide community to connect. https://www.facebook.com/groups/BrainInjuryAwarenessSupportGroup/ Here's the private group associated with the "A Battle Within" podcast" https://www.facebook.com/groups/abattlewithin/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/826656860825862/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/6367734334/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1610844199173133/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/1078165138911832/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/418909271603041/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/mhbotfortbi https://www.facebook.com/groups/951850348205135/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/186712754690242/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/951850348205135/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/PTSD.TBI/ https://www.facebook.com/groups/mhbotfortbi/about
