Hey Friends, I had a wonderful time worth spending at Athirappilly waterfalls. It's one of the best places to visit in Kerala. However, the toughest part was to say goodbye to the place. Nevertheless, enjoyed the great landscape, cozy weather, and good Kerala food. This place is worth a visit and is highly recommended. Stay tuned for more content....!! About Athirappilly Waterfalls: Athirappilly Falls is known for its fine resemble with the popular Niagara Falls in the USA. So, Athirappilly Waterfalls is fondly called “The Niagara of India". It is also the largest waterfall in Kerala. Standing against the backdrop of a rustling jungle foliage, many films and music videos are shot here. The waterfall is 80 feet tall and is a freshwater fish reserve containing about 80 exotic fishes How to Reach Athirappilly waterfalls: By Air: Arrive at KOCHI Airport Take a cab to Athirappilly Waterfalls (6kms / INR 1500) By Train: Arrive at CHALAKUDY Railway Station Take a cab to Athirappilly Waterfalls (39kms / INR 1000) By Road: Arrive at CHALAKUDY City Drive to Athirappilly Waterfalls (39kms) Best time to Visit: Open Hours: 8am to 5pm (All days of the week) Monsoon season – The best view of the Athirappilly waterfalls can be enjoyed during monsoon. However, be careful of heavy rains, and other inconveniences during this period Where to Stay: There are some amazing resorts and hotels around Athirappilly waterfalls area, however, they can be expensive. Would recommend only if you have a personal vehicle. If you travelling from Kochi, it's better to take a day time trip to Athirappilly waterfalls and return back What to Wear: Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Take a spare one if you are planning to take a dip in the water. What else to Visit: You may visit Thumboormuzhi Dam, Hanging Bridge, and Butterfly Garden on the way to Athirappilly waterfalls. There are some good amusement parks like Silver storm and Dreamworld in the same way. There are some good restaurants you may try on the way to Athirappilly waterfalls You may also visit: Munnar which is almost 130 kms from Athirappilly waterfalls Alleppey which is almost 120 kms from Athirappilly waterfalls Other information: There are a lot of monkeys around the area. Be careful of your belongings.
