Opening Timing In Summer (April-October) 09:00 AM to 7:30 PM In Winter (November-March) 09:00 AM to 6:30 PM Opens for All days & Entry is Free National War Memorial is the 1st war memorial of India & it is dedicated to all soldiers who has sacrificed their life in war from 1947 to 1999. It is near to India Gate & covered the area of 40 acres. India gate is also a war memorial, but it was made by British Govt. in 1933 before the freedom. It was made for the soldiers who died in 1st world war. 13,218 names of soldiers have been written on it & excatly below the India Gate, Amar Jawan Jyoti is also there, Which burns for 24 hours. Amar Jawan Jyoti is also a war memorial which was made for the soldiers who died in 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War. when you walk towards War Memorial from India Gate then on the left side you will find a park in which toilet facilities is also available & after crossing that park you will find the "Param Yodha Sthal" "Param Yodha Sthal" is made for those Indian Brave Soldiers who have been awarded the Param Vir Chakra. when i was going into the park then soldier standing outside has stopped me to make video of inside, so I am unable to show you video but can share you some pictures In the park you will find statues of all 21 soldiers and their story. A small video I am sharing with you is made from outside In the center, Amar Chakra is 15.5 meter tall standing poll & below it Amar Jawan jyoti burns. It was innaugrated by Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi Ji on 26 Feb 2019. Around the Amar chakra the place is known as veerta chakra & in Veerta Chakra 6 battle of India have been shown very beautifully on the wall The 1st Longewala war has been shown which happened in 1971 between IND-PAK and the 2nd war shown later was the Gangasagar war which was fought for the liberation of Bangladesh. on 3rd, Tithwal Battle, which happened in 1947-48 between IND-PAK & these are the signs of all 3 Militaries of India On 4th, Rezangla Battle has been shown which happened in 1962 between India-China On 5th, Operation Meghdoot has been shown. Actually Operation Meghdoot was happened in 1987 in Siachin. Where the Temp was below 50 & here in the last Operation Trident has been shown which was done by India Navy. Operation Trident is Proof of the strength of Indian Navy. In this war Indian Navy had remind Pakistan of her grandmother In Tyag Chakra, total of 16 granite walls are made. 25,942 soldiers name, Post, Regiment and Service number have been written on both side of the wall. In Rakshak Chakra, 600 trees have been plante which reflects the Army soldiers, those are deployed on nation security. Entry & exit are not on same gate so while we walk towards exit gate from entry gate we will find a Touch Screen in which virtually we can pay Tribute to Martyrs & also can search their name. Inside the memorial two galleries are their, North and South Gallery. In both Toilet facilities are availabe and in North Gallerya a Souvenir is also available where you can purchase some goods related to National War Memorial. Before you visit War Memorial, Please keep some important things in mind that don't bring eatable item, don't keep any large bag or luggage, Camera not allowed inside, you can keep your phone Nearest Metro station is Rajiv Chowk, Pragati Maidan, Barakhamba Road Mandi House, and Central Secreteriat all are almost at the same distance.
