Derick Aquino's video: Freewing Lippisch P 15 64mm EDF Jet - Ace Combat Zero Special - Galm 2 Pixy

@Freewing Lippisch P.15 64mm EDF Jet - Ace Combat Zero Special - Galm 2 "Pixy"
I've finally completed and test flown my Ace Combat Zero Galm 2 "Pixy" Custom on my 2-year old Freewing Lippisch P.15 64mm EDF Jet over the past weekend. This video includes two flights - one in fair weather and one in inclement weather, demonstrating it's tolerance to a wide range of flight conditions. Watch all the way through to hear Pixy converse with Galm 1 "Cipher" and AWACS "Eagle Eye" through the comms, and also see an epic "Mission Accomplished" landing at the end! RC Groups Blog Write-Up with additional photos / specs: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3598285-Freewing-Lippisch-P-15-64mm-EDF-Jet-Ace-Combat-Zero-Special-Galm-2-Pixy See below for a list of my modifications: 1) Upgraded to an FMS 3S 64mm 2840-3900KV 11-Blade EDF Unit. 2) Upgraded to a ZTW Mantis 45-Amp ESC. 3) Armor-coated the underbelly with a foam brush-applied layer of JB Weld 5-Minute Clear Epoxy as a protective skid plate. 4) Custom Ace Combat Zero - Galm 2 "Pixy" Scheme (thank you Brad Lupher for the amazing airbrush work). 5) Spray-Applied 2 Coats of Minwax Satin Finish Polycrylic on airframe. This has easily become the fastest EDF Jet in my fleet (+100mph).. and is still powered by the same Roaring Top 3S 1800mAh 45C lipos that I was originally using with the stock system. With a dry weight of 415 grams and Max Static Amp Draw of 35.5a, the thrust to weight setup is outstanding. My Freewing Lippisch P.15 also had badly misaligned decals (top and bottom) on the right wing. So I took the opportunity to correct it by having a custom airbrush job done on the right wing, and then ordering a spare set of Lippisch German Crosses to correct what the factory messed up on. The custom paint scheme on my Lippisch P.15 is an homage to Namco's Ace Combat Zero Fictional Character - Galm Team's No. 2 Mercenary Pilot, Larry Foulke, aka "Solo Wing Pixy" - https://acecombat.fandom.com/wiki/Larry_Foulke As the Lippisch P.15 was a German Luftwaffe's "Emergency Fighter Program" Concept that was never put into production, I thought it was only coincidentally fitting to have Pixy (who at the end of Ace Combat Zero happens to be piloting an experimental combat aircraft, the South Belka Munitions Factory ADFX-02 Morgan) be at the stick. Thank you for the excellent footage and making this possible: Sortie 1 Cameraman: Brad Lupher Sortie 2 Cameraman: Mike "Deuces Wild" Frontiero Galm 2: "This is Pixy. I just bagged a bandit!" 💥🔥💨 Hope you enjoy the video!
