Sonia Gandhi, former President of Indian National Congress and party's top leader today took oath as Rajya Sabha member of Congress party. She was elected to Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan. She was earlier a Lok Sabha member from Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh but looking at poor chances of party's victory on family's two conventional seats Raebareli and Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, Sonia Gandhi opted for Rajya Sabha to enter the parliament. Sonia Gandhi after her oath, was congratulated by Rajya Sabha chairman. Her term in Rajya Sabha will be for six years.
