Design-Essentialz's video: The collapse of a Macro and Micro Ecosystem Delhi NCR Floods Devastation of Farmhouses

@The collapse of a Macro and Micro Ecosystem! Delhi NCR Floods Devastation of Farmhouses.
# Shorts The collapse of a Macro and Micro Ecosystem! According to the saying, we gain knowledge from our circumstances, and every catastrophe brings forth new requirements. A recent example of this was the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, some farmhouses were ready in the Yamuna floodplains, and 15 families shifted and relocated there during the lockdown. Following the pandemic, those who hadn't built their own farms began constructing them to ensure open space during future crises. This led to a remarkable surge, as the cost of an average flat with good amenities was nearly equal to the cost of 2 acres of farmland and a home featuring a swimming pool and the farms had access to the top-notch schools of Noida within a radius of 3 km. Given my close proximity, I had the privilege of being one of the preferred architects. Throughout my experience, I received an array of design requests, ranging from a top-floor deck to enjoy the scenic river view, a jogging track encircling the perimeter of the home, a mesmerizing water fountain that starts on the first floor and gracefully pours into the swimming pool, and even a green driveway seamlessly blending into a lush lawn for smooth vehicular movement. However, amidst the extensive list of demands, not once did anyone express even the slightest concern about how the property would withstand a potential flood. The heartbreaking truth is that these houses were recently constructed, and this monsoon season marked their first encounter with the rains. Unfortunately, those nearing completion were damaged even before anyone could step foot inside, while the ongoing constructions saw their building materials washed away. A remarkable ecosystem had emerged, where each farm adopted a family responsible for its care. Women took charge of domestic chores, while men earned additional income as construction workers elsewhere. They cultivated their own food, embracing the popularity of organic farming in the region. However, today they find themselves displaced, living in temporary tents along the road. Despite these immense challenges, the community has united to ensure that food is provided day and night. Now, the question arises: Will the sale and purchase of these so-called Yamuna floodplain farmhouses come to a halt? Or will there be a new approach towards creating homes with flood-resistant interiors?
