She is best known as the voice behind songs like ‘Mar Jawaan’ (Fashion), ‘Subharambh’ (Kai Po Che), among others having also worked with popular music composers like Pritam, Salim Suleman, Vishal and Shekhar. In 2013, Shruti Pathak launched a band called ‘Guzzler’. She has been on tours all over the country promoting it and has taken one step ahead as she launched ‘Guzzler’ as a radio show on the Fever 104 FM. Where many chose to promote band via live shows and tours, Shruti chose the radio as a medium to promote her band. The music of Guzzler is by and large a blend of ghazals and contemporary music. She admits that she’s been influenced by many brilliant musicians like Ustad Mehdi Hassan, Ustad Ghulam Ali, Jagjit Singh, Hariharan and Penaz Massani among others. While the lyrical content remains the same, the treatment of each track is very new. With the use of new age kind of sounds, an attempt has been made to westernise the entire production. On the Season finale of The Dewarists, Shruti Pathak lends her voice to the passionate lyrics of poet Waris Shah’s poem ‘Heer’ with Nucleya, versatile self taught artist, musician, music producer and sound designer.
