The Karma Kagyu Buddhist monastery next to the world-famous Swayambhu stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal, is undergoing a much-needed renovation. For many of the hundreds of thousands of visitors each year, it is a place where they meet HH 17th Karmapa Trinley Thaye Dorje and the Karma Kagyu school for the first time. The Diamond Way Buddhism Foundation aims to make it a representative place reflecting its significance. The project was begun with the support of the late Shamar Rinpoche, who had his seat in Nepal in this monastery for many years, and is being continued with the kind support of His Holiness Karmapa.
