WATCH THE VOLUME, the sound is pretty intense! This is the Insanity Machine and as the name suggests, it generates pure sonic madness! It's one of the devices I assembled to create the Impulse Responses for Rhythmic Convolutions 2 gum.co/FFSRC2 I was able to create some cool sounding Impulse Responses with this. This is how it works: a guitar string is wrapped around a piece of metal and attached to an old electric motor. A guitar pickup in front of the string captures the signal. The signal then goes into a mixer, then it's routed into a boutique octave multiplier (which goes completely nuts considering the type of signal going in). A door bell acts as a temporary switch and breaks the signal going from the octave multiplier back into the mixer, to make the signal stutter.
