@CAMEL CEREMONIAL DRILL | AMAZING DISPLAY OF COORDINATION | REPUBLIC DAY CAMELS !!
History of Camels in BSF (Border Security Force) Camels were initially part of Indian Army's Grenadier units, they also participated in the wars of 1948&1965. After the formation of BSF in 1 Dec/1965, these camels were shifted to them for operational duties and training. The camels were also efficiently used in the 1971 war by the BSF. Known as the sea of desert it could withstand long time without water, an ideal vehicle in desert warfare. Later these camels were also trained in ceremonial drills, in various functions of the forces. The camel contingent first participated in the RD parade of BSF in 1976, since then it has become a main attraction of the RD parade, in New Delhi every year. These camels are specially trained to withstand loud music, and disturbance. With the calmness of a sage, and unmatched stamina, Camels have proved to be a vital asset in the armoury of Indian Military forces, particularly BSF.
