Vega beats the heat (93 deg F) in the South African sun by cooling off in his pool. An enrichment tool with hours of enrichment. Vega is a very tamed hand raised serval at Cheetah Experience. I said he was born at CE but that is not correct. I don't know how he arrived there. He is very relaxed and comfortable in his enclosed environment and how he can enjoy his enrichment... being stress free. I only posted 5 minutes of Vega dunking for toys, but this went on beyond even my captive interest... I stopped recording and left Vega to his pool party after 20 minutes. :) I discuss a little about servals before the dunking. There is a lot more to a serval but talk about the stripes / spots, soft fur and the fact the serval is the 2nd fastest cat on the planet... traveling up to 50mph!!! It is their long legs and thin body (like a cheetah) that affords them the speed necessary to hunt. But they use a lot of ambush predation as well... using their large sound capturing ears to locate pray in the brush and undergrowth. Servals are adept hunters on ground and air... jumping nearly 15 feet straight up to capture birds flying overhead. One day I'll capture their umping abilities on film and show you... in slow mode.
