UPDATE: Three months later, the ice maker is now working perfectly. I have discovered that this ice maker likes to make ice and doesn't respond well to being cut off. When I cut off the ice maker, it tends to freeze up. Therefore, I leave it on and discard ice when the bin gets so full that it stops the icemaker from continually making ice.
