Let me show you Stockholm, the wonderful capital of Sweden and the indisputable pearl in the Nordic region seen thru the eyes of a fly fisherman. The area has been settled since the stone age (6000 BC) but it was the Vikings that first occupied the island of Stadsholmen (Old Town) in 1000 AD, creating trading routes to Europe, Asia and North America. Stockholm was founded city in 1252 AD and is now spread over 14 islands. The fishing for salmon and sea trout is excellent and it’s free, you don’t need any permits.
