Drew Schultz's video: Drew Schultz - It s About Leaving

@Drew Schultz - It's About Leaving
Find Drew Online ------- http://www.DSdrums.com Leaving is hard. Really hard. You know what I mean? Leaving jobs, leaving homes, leaving friends, leaving loved ones, just going. "The strong give up and move on, while the weak give up and stay." That kind of leaving. I've had times where I left my home and friends (Cleveland to NYC to Detroit to NYC to Detroit), left jobs I loved on leaps of faith, left touring the world with my favorite group (twice), left relationships, left bands, moved on with sights set on lofty goals that are sometimes met and sometimes not. You too? I remember visiting Detroit from NYC a few years ago during the holidays, and buying Anthony Retka's Big Parade album. I remember deciding Detroit was right for me after finishing college. I remember driving away from New York, my car packed with everything I owned, listening to Anthony's song and crying. I was excited for all that was yet to come, but sad to be moving away from so many great friends, great times, and great opportunities in NYC. Recently, I took another leap of faith to return to the "full time freelance" world - just teaching, performing, writing, producing, and recording. Lindsay helped me build my dream private lesson / recording studio under The Dovetail Cafe in Warren, and this is the first thing I've recorded in that space. This song has always meant a ton to me, so I figured I'd take a crack at it. It's also the first single I've ever actually sang, so go easy on me! Share it, spread the love, and don't be afraid to leave if leaving is what is right. Sometimes it all aligns and your lofty goals are met after all. Hopefully this will at least give you a chuckle, if not some comfort in a time of transition for you or someone you love. All instruments and vocals arranged, performed, recorded, engineered, mixed, and mastered by Drew Schultz at his teaching / recording studio space.
