I'm here to announce that I will be putting No Heroes officially On Hold. As you know, I've been working on No Heroes for over 6 years, ever since my second year of University. We were actually three (Tiago, Luís, João) back then, with a completely different idea for a game (episodic single-player), but after awhile and many changes, only I remained to work on the game, and has been like this for many many years, becoming a completely new and different game from what it was. A full scale FPS multiplayer game with focus on realism, interactive/destructible environments, large scale combat, dedicated server side authority, "parkour" movement, advanced weapon customization, etc. The scope was just too large for just one person working on it as a hobby on spare time, while having a full-time job and a personal life. Working on this game at the same time while taking a masters degree in computer science, with classes, projects, tests, exams, thesis was very challenging, specially when I also added full-time work on top of it as a researcher. After all that, I got a job as a game developer, which is now my full-time job, and I'm certain that the experience I've gathered from making No Heroes is what helped me the most. You have probably noticed that updates have slowed down a lot. I've been delaying and making less and less updates, and that is because the scope of the game is so complex that it's hard to get my hands on it. With still so much to do, every time I tried to work on it, I was overwhelmed with the work I still had to do to make this game a reality. It was a pretty big stress point that I would encounter every time I worked on the game or just looked at videos, comments and social media about it. I know a lot of you have followed me for a long time, and some even from the beginning, and I really want to thank all of you for the amazing and continuous support over the years. I wouldn't be where I'm at without the support of so many of you. While I'm putting No Heroes on hold, I'm not stopping making games as a hobby (even if I already do it for a living). I've learned a lot from No Heroes, and I won't be making the same mistakes as I did with it, specially on the scope of the game. I will be starting a new game with a much lower scope compared to No Heroes. I have a few much simpler ideas for fun games that are much easier to achieve. I will probably make small development posts over on my twitter ( https://twitter.com/Tiago11F ) when I feel like I can show some things. I will also post here on facebook whenever it feels right. No Heroes won't be lost forever, and in the future, if I think it can be done, I can always bring it back stronger than ever. Again, Thank you all for the amazing support! Tiago"
