I go through the process in three easy steps. The first step is to cut holes in the roof and install the roof vent and skylight. I like to do this first because it makes it easier to build around these features later on in the process. This step also includes running wires for the lights, fan, and solar panel. The second step is to frame and insulate the ceiling. I chose to use polyiso foam board insulation for this step. I like using it because it is lightweight, easy to cut, and fairly inexpensive. The third and final step is to install the ceiling panels. I chose to use pre stained and sealed wall panels for this, but you can really use anything for this step. I used my brad nailer to hold the ceiling up in place to the framing that I put in earlier and will be finishing the ceiling with structural trim pieces later on in my build.
